Connect Mollie

Mollie offers customers the payment methods you have switched on in Mollie for your currency.

When you need it

  • You want to offer payment methods that Mollie supports, alongside or instead of cards.

Step by step

  1. In Mollie, open Developers → API keys and copy a key: test_… for testing (no real money) or live_….

  2. In WordPress, open CaliDiary → Settings → Payments. In the Online payments card, go to the Mollie section.

  3. Paste the key into API key.

  4. Switch on Offer Mollie to customers and press Save Mollie.

  5. Press Test connection. CaliDiary lists the methods switched on, such as Connected to Mollie in test mode. No real money is taken. Methods switched on: …

  6. When you are ready, paste your live_… key and press Save Mollie again.

Tips

  • Mollie's webhook is set up for you automatically when your website can be reached from the internet: there is nothing to copy.
  • To refund a Mollie payment, Mollie needs enough money in your Mollie balance.
  • Mollie sometimes renames its menus. If Developers → API keys has moved, search Mollie's dashboard for “API keys”.

Common problems

“The API key starts with test_ or live_. Copy it from Developers → API keys in Mollie.”
You pasted a different value, such as a profile ID. Copy the API key itself.
“Mollie didn't accept this API key. Check you copied the whole key.”
Copy the key again, without spaces before or after it.
The test says “Methods switched on: none yet: switch some on in Mollie”
Switch on at least one payment method in your Mollie account for your currency, then press Test connection again.
“Mollie couldn't make this refund. Mollie needs enough money in your Mollie balance to refund.”
Top up your Mollie balance, or refund the customer another way and record it on the booking.
