Confidentiality first
Client information is the heart of a law firm's duty of confidence. CaliDiary is built so that bookings, answers and uploaded documents are kept in your own WordPress database and on your own server. Uploaded files are stored outside the public uploads folder, are only visible to signed-in staff, and photos have their hidden location data removed. Appointment notes and private notes on a client's profile are for staff only.
When a client asks for their data, WordPress's own Export Personal Data and Erase Personal Data tools include everything CaliDiary holds about them. Erasing keeps payment amounts for your accounts but removes the personal details.
Conflict checks without slowing clients down
A booking form can ask exactly the questions your conflict check needs: the names of the other parties, the area of law, and a short description. On Solo and Pro, a follow-up question can appear only when it is relevant, for example asking for the property address only when the matter is conveyancing. Because the time is held as a request, the client has a firm slot while you check, and nobody else can take it.
Accessible to every client
The booking form is built and tested to WCAG 2.2 AA: it works by keyboard alone, with screen readers, at large text sizes and in dark mode. That matters for clients who are older, disabled or in a stressful situation, and it reflects the care your firm already takes in person.
Fees, calendars and video meetings
On Solo and Pro, clients can pay for a consultation by card when they book, in full or as a deposit, through your firm's own Stripe, PayPal or Mollie account, with no fee from CaliDiary. Two-way sync with Outlook and Google keeps each fee earner's private appointments out of the booking form, video consultations get their own Zoom, Teams or Google Meet link, and several reminders can go out before each appointment. See every feature and its plan on the features page.
