A WordPress booking block and shortcode, with a live preview

Add the CaliDiary booking form to any page or post with the "CaliDiary booking form" block, which shows the real form as you edit, or with the [calidiary] shortcode. Both can show everything or just one booking set-up, service or person, in light, dark or automatic mode with your accent colour.

Available Plans: Free, Solo, Pro
Illustration: block settings in the WordPress editor.
WordPress block and shortcode

What it does for you

Block

Drop in the booking block.

The CaliDiary booking form block shows the real form as you edit.

  • Live preview in the editor
  • Every plan
Shortcode

Anywhere shortcodes work.

[calidiary] places the same form in the classic editor, widgets and page builders.

  • One service or one person
  • The same options
On the page

Your page, your colours.

The form keeps its own styles, so themes can't break it, and fetches fresh times for cached pages.

  • Light, dark or automatic
  • Corner rounding

Everything about wordPress block and shortcode

The block

In the block editor, add CaliDiary booking form. The editor shows a live preview of the real form, and the block settings let you choose:

  • What to show: everything, one booking set-up, one service, or one person.
  • Appearance: light, dark, or the visitor's own setting.
  • Accent colour: made darker or lighter automatically until text on it is readable (WCAG AA contrast).
  • Corner rounding.
  • Design: step by step on every plan; "calendar beside times" on Solo and Pro (see booking form designs).

The shortcode

[calidiary] places the same form, with the same choices as options, anywhere shortcodes work: classic editor, widgets and most page builders.

Elementor

Elementor users get a dedicated CaliDiary widget with the same options and a live preview inside Elementor's editor.

Fast and cache-friendly

The form is a small, self-contained web component. It fetches free times from your website when it is shown, so page-caching plugins never show old times. Bookings are checked again when they are saved, so there are no double bookings.

Questions about wordPress block and shortcode

Which WordPress and PHP versions do I need?
WordPress 6.7 or later and PHP 8.4 or later.
Can I put different forms on different pages?
Yes. Each block or shortcode can show one booking set-up, one service or one person, so a page about a single service can book just that service.
Will my theme change how the form looks?
The form keeps its own styles, so themes can't break it. It takes your accent colour, light or dark mode and corner rounding from the block or shortcode settings.
Does it work with page builders?
The shortcode works anywhere shortcodes do, and there is a dedicated Elementor widget.
