Give customers a My bookings page

A page on your own website where customers sign in with a 6-digit code sent to their email, with no password to forget, and handle their own bookings within the rules you set.

Solo and Pro plans. Solo and Pro. On Free you see a preview of this page with an upgrade link. Compare the plans.

When you need it

  • Customers keep emailing to ask when their appointment is.
  • You want people to move or cancel themselves, inside your rules.

Before you start

  • Check your booking set-up’s rules for moving and cancelling first: those rules are what the page obeys. See Make a booking set-up.
  • Make sure your website can send email reliably, because the sign-in code arrives that way.

Step by step

  1. Open CaliDiary → Settings → Sign-in and security and find My bookings page.

[Screenshot to come] It will show: The “My bookings page” card with the “Put it on a new website page” button and the choice of how long customers stay signed in.
The My bookings card, before the page has been made. (Settings → Sign-in and security)
  2. Press Put it on a new website page. CaliDiary makes the page for you. If you would rather choose where it goes, add the CaliDiary My bookings block, the Elementor widget or the shortcode to a page of your own.

  3. Choose how long customers stay signed in, then press Save.

  4. Try it yourself: open the page, type an email address that has a booking, and sign in with the 6-digit code that arrives.

[Screenshot to come] It will show: The signed-in customer view listing one upcoming booking with Move and Cancel buttons, and a past booking with Book again.
A customer’s own bookings, with Move, Cancel and Book again. (The My bookings page on the website)
  5. Add a link to the page in your menu, and to your confirmation email, so customers can find it without asking.

Tips

  • There is no password. A fresh code is emailed each time, so there is nothing for a customer to forget or for anyone to steal and reuse.
  • Customers see only their own bookings, and only the ones belonging to the email address they proved they can read.
  • Moving and cancelling follow the same rules as your booking form, so nobody can cancel at short notice if you do not allow it.

Common problems

The code never arrives
The email did not leave your website. Check Settings → Health, and ask your host about sending email. Until it is fixed, nobody can sign in, because the code is the only way in.
A customer sees nothing after signing in
Their bookings are under a different email address from the one they typed. Open the booking and check the address on it.
The Move or Cancel button is not there
The booking set-up does not allow it, or the booking is now inside the notice period you set. That is the rule working, not a fault.
The page shows nothing at all
The block, widget or shortcode is missing from the page, or the page was made on a plan you are no longer on. Press Put it on a new website page again.
