Put a booking set-up on your website

Each booking set-up has its own booking form. Put it on a new page with one click, or add it to any page with its shortcode, the CaliDiary block or the Elementor widget.

Plans
Plans: Free, Solo, Pro
In the plugin
CaliDiary → Appointments → Booking set-ups

When you need it

  • Your services and booking set-up are ready and you want visitors to book.
  • You want a booking form on an existing page, such as your Contact page.
  • You want several booking forms on one page.

Before you start

Step by step

  1. Open CaliDiary → Appointments and choose the Booking set-ups tab. Find the set-up you want visitors to book.

  2. At the bottom of its card, under On your website:, you see its shortcode with Copy and Put it on a new website page.

[Screenshot to come] It will show: The bottom of the “Consultations” card: “On your website:”, the shortcode [calidiary setup="consultations"], Copy, Put it on a new website page, and the line about the CaliDiary block or Elementor widget.
A booking set-up's shortcode with the Copy and Put it on a new website page buttons (Appointments → Booking set-ups)
  3. The quickest way: press Put it on a new website page. Check the Page title (it starts as the set-up's name) and press Make the page.

[Screenshot to come] It will show: The Put it on a new website page window after Make the page: “The page is made and on your website.” with View the page, Edit the page and Done.
The message that the new booking page is made, with View the page and Edit the page (Appointments → Booking set-ups → Put it on a new website page)
  4. When you see The page is made and on your website., press View the page to see the booking form as visitors do, or Edit the page to add your own words.

  5. Or, to use an existing page: press Copy and paste the shortcode into the page, such as [calidiary setup="consultations"].

  6. Or, in the block editor or Elementor, add the CaliDiary booking form block or widget and choose the set-up under Booking set-up.

Tips

  • The shortcode [calidiary] on its own shows every booking set-up. The block and widget do the same when Booking set-up is left at Every booking set-up.
  • To show several booking forms on one page, add the block or widget again for each set-up.
  • Classes and courses and Events have the same Put it on a new website page button on their Booking set-ups tab.
  • If you may not publish pages, the new page is saved as a draft for someone who can publish it.

Common problems

“Selected: press Ctrl+C (or Cmd+C) to copy it.”
Your browser stopped CaliDiary copying for you. The shortcode is selected: press Ctrl+C (Cmd+C on a Mac), then paste it.
“The page is saved as a draft: someone who may publish pages can publish it.”
Your WordPress account can't publish pages. Ask an administrator or editor to publish the draft.
The page shows the shortcode as text instead of the form
Paste the shortcode into a Shortcode block (or the Elementor Shortcode widget), not inside a code or preformatted block.
The form says nothing can be booked
Check the set-up has services ticked, the services have someone under Who does it, and your business hours are set. The preview shows the free times.
