Add a class and its weekly times

A class runs at set weekly times, and people book a place on a date. Add the class once, then its weekly time: CaliDiary makes the dates for you.

Plans
Plans: Free, Solo, Pro
In the plugin
CaliDiary → Classes and courses → Classes

When you need it

  • You run a regular workshop or training session, such as “Bookkeeping basics” every Tuesday evening.
  • Several people book places on the same date, each paying for their place.
  • You want to add another weekly time to a class you already run.

Before you start

  • Classes count towards the Free plan's 5 services. Solo and Pro have no limit.
  • To give classes a level, add your levels first in the Class levels card at the bottom of the Classes tab.

Step by step

  1. Open CaliDiary → Classes and courses and choose the Classes tab.

  2. Press Add class.

  3. Fill in the class:

    • Name, such as “Bookkeeping basics”;
    • Booking set-up: the class booking set-up that offers it (a new class starts in your first one);
    • Price for each place, such as 30.00 (leave it empty for free);
    • Usual length (minutes), such as 90;
    • Description (optional).

    • Teacher: the person who runs it (it shows in their diary and they can mark the register);
    • Room (optional), such as “Training room”, and Level (optional);
    • From (optional) and Until (optional), if it runs for a set time only.

Tips

  • A new class goes into your first class booking set-up. If you have none yet, make one on the Booking set-ups tab, then choose it in the class's Booking set-up.
  • Switch off Running on a weekly time to pause it: no new dates are offered, and dates already booked stay.
  • Removing a weekly time keeps the dates that already have bookings.
  • A teacher can't be given two classes at the same time. Choose another time, or another teacher.
  • On Solo and Pro you can sell class passes. Courses are on Pro: see Make a course.

Common problems

“Enter a price such as 12.50, or leave it empty for free.”
Type the price for one place as a number, without the currency sign.
“Enter the start time, such as 18:30.” or “Enter the places, from 1 to 10,000.”
Each weekly time needs a start time and the number of places.
“The last date must be on or after the first.”
Check From (optional) and Until (optional): the last date can't be before the first. Leave both empty for a class that keeps running.
“A class with bookings can’t be deleted: hide it from visitors instead.”
Edit the class and switch off Visitors can book it. Its booked dates stay as they are.
