Share the team sign-in page

Team members see their own diary on your website's team sign-in page, never the WordPress dashboard.

Plans
Plans: Free, Solo, Pro
In the plugin
CaliDiary → Settings → Sign-in and security

When you need it

  • A colleague should see their own bookings without access to the WordPress dashboard.
  • Someone asks where they sign in.
  • You want to add two-step sign-in for extra safety.

Step by step

  1. Open CaliDiary → Settings and choose the Sign-in and security tab.

  2. In the Team sign-in page card, find your page's address. It is your website's address followed by /calidiary-login/, such as https://brightwell.example/calidiary-login/. Select the address and copy it to share it.

[Screenshot to come] It will show: The Team sign-in page card with the address https://brightwell.example/calidiary-login/ (or the demo site's own), the two-step note with “Find the Two-Factor plugin”, and the link “Invite people on Team and locations”.
The Team sign-in page card showing the sign-in address and the two-step sign-in note (Settings → Sign-in and security)
  3. Press Invite people on Team and locations. This opens Team and locations → Team → Sign-in.

  4. Press Invite to sign in beside each person. Without an email address you are asked for it first: enter it and press Save and send the invitation.

[Screenshot to come] It will show: The Invitations list with pills: Alex Morgan “Can sign in”, Priya Shah “Invited” with Send the invitation again, Sam Reid “Not invited” with Invite to sign in and the hint “You’ll be asked for their email address first.”
The team Sign-in tab with people at different invitation stages (Team and locations → Team → Sign-in)
  5. Each person is emailed a link to Choose your password. They then sign in at the team sign-in page to see their diary.

  6. For extra safety, add a two-step sign-in plugin. The card links to Find the Two-Factor plugin, a free plugin made by WordPress contributors.

Tips

  • Admins and Viewers (Pro) can sign in on the same page too.
  • The invitation link works once. If it has stopped working, they use Forgot password? on the sign-in page, or you press Send the invitation again.
  • If your WordPress permalinks are set to Plain, the address ends ?calidiary=login instead.
  • Someone who already has a WordPress login with the same email is linked straight away and can sign in with it.

Common problems

“Team members sign in on WordPress's own sign-in page while … is active.”
Another two-step sign-in plugin is active, so team members use WordPress's own sign-in page. Share that address instead, or follow your plugin's guide.
“That email or password isn't right.”
The person should check for typing mistakes, or press Forgot password? and Send me a link.
“Too many tries. For your security, please wait … and try again.”
Sign-in tries are limited. Wait for the time shown. If your website uses Cloudflare, see Use CaliDiary behind Cloudflare.
“This link has stopped working: it may have been used already, or be too old.”
Ask for a new link on that page, or press Send the invitation again on Team → Sign-in.
