When you need it
- You are setting CaliDiary up for the first time.
- Booking times look an hour out, or the wrong currency shows on prices.
- Your customers expect a 12-hour clock (2:30 pm) rather than 24-hour (14:30).
Step by step
-
Open CaliDiary → Settings and choose the Time and money tab.
[Screenshot to come] It will show: The Time and money card in order: Time zone (Europe/London chosen, or the list open showing “Same as WordPress (…)” first), Currency “Pound sterling (GBP)”, Week starts on Monday, Clock 24-hour (14:30), and Save settings. The Time and money tab with the time zone, currency, week start and clock chosen (Settings → Time and money) -
Choose your Time zone. The first choice, Same as WordPress (…), follows the zone set in WordPress's own settings. Every opening hour and booking time is in this zone.
-
Choose your Currency. It is used for every price. Changing it later doesn't convert prices you have already set.
-
Choose the day your week starts on in Week starts on: the diary and calendars begin on it.
-
Choose a Clock: 24-hour (14:30) or 12-hour (2:30 pm).
-
Press Save settings.
Tips
- Set the time zone before you add opening hours, so you never have to check them again.
- If you change currency after adding services, open each service and check its price: the numbers stay the same, only the currency changes.
- The week start and clock start from your WordPress settings, so most sites need no change.
Common problems
“Choose a time zone from the list.”
The saved zone isn't one CaliDiary knows. Pick a city in your country from the list, or Same as WordPress (…).
Free times are an hour early or late
The time zone is usually the cause. Choose your city here (not a fixed offset such as UTC+1), so summer time changes are followed. Then check the preview of free times.
Prices show the wrong currency symbol
Choose the right Currency here and save. Prices already set keep their numbers, so check them afterwards.
